Prince George preps for Halloween

PRINCE GEORGE- As the week wraps up, The community is gearing up for Halloween weekend, and with events planned all over town, the city lacks tricks but has plenty of treats.

“It’s just a good opportunity for local people to get out and celebrate the festivities if they’re into that sort of thing. If not, there are still lots of great events happening,” said Colin Carson, the CEO of Tourism Prince George.

One of those great events is happening at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum, Where they say there will be many spooktacular attractions for the whole family.

“This weekend, we have the pumpkin express. It is a family-friendly spooktacular event for all ages. Feel free to dress up and come down it Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m,” Said Alisha Rubadeau, the events marketing manager for the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum.

With dozens of other events happening this weekend, including a pumpkin walk at Northern Lights Estate Winery, multiple dances, haunted mazes and lodges and fireworks, this weekend is an opportunity for everyone to explore Prince George.

“It’s really exciting,” said Rubadeau. “This is the first time we’ve seen these big events return to Prince George. And what I’ve seen on Facebook and through social media and our website has been huge. Everyone’s excited.”
