WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Residents in the Cariboo are being warned of poor visibility due to heavy and local blowing snow Thursday (Nov. 3).

Environment Canada issued the special weather statements for the Cariboo, 100 Mile House and North Thompson regions Wednesday (Nov. 2) morning.

Nearly 10 to 20 centimetres of snow and winds gusting to 60 are expected to impact communities along Highway 97 from Clinton to Pine Pass and surrounding areas.

“A frontal system associated with an atmospheric river will produce heavy snowfall rates across the central interior beginning Thursday afternoon,” Environment Canada states. “Travellers are advised to check their travel plans and be prepared for poor visibility in heavy snow and/or blowing snow.”
