Fall economic update

Doherty says fall economic update doesn’t address mental health ‘deficit’

OTTAWA — Cariboo-Prince George Conservative MP Todd Doherty says the Liberals fall economic update does nothing to alleviate the longstanding deficit in mental health services in this country.

He says the government’s Wellness Together portal and the PocketWell app do not address the lack of social workers, psychologists, and mental health practitioners in Canada.

Doherty notes that the past two years have taken a devastating toll on mental health and says we need a government that takes the issue seriously.

“Rising levels of depression and anxiety among adults and children need to be a priority.”
