PRINCE GEORGE – Winter conditions now exist in the mountains.

Avalanche Canada would like to remind backcountry enthusiasts to gear up with a transceiver, shovel, probe, and factor avalanches into your trip planning.

Avalanches can be triggered either naturally or artificially. Natural triggers include heavy snowfall or a rapid temperature rise.

An atmospheric river is bringing periods of heavy snowfall to BC’s central interior. Extra caution is needed during this time of year.
