PRINCE GEORGE — It’s Fall book sale weekend at the Prince George Public Library’s downtown Bob Harkins Branch.

Put on by the library and the Friends of the Public Library Society, it kicks off with members only access today from 2 to 5 p.m.

Memberships can be purchased on site for $5. The public sale takes place tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Books and other items are by cash donation with the proceeds going to support programs and initiatives at the Prince George Public Library.

“We believe that developing libraries is a crucial part of developing communities, and so we support the Prince George Public Library’s success by promoting the library and raising necessary funds for special library projects,” says Past President and Director of the Friends of the Prince George Public Library Society Margaret Johnston.

“The Friends of the Prince George Public Library have supported, promoted and advocated for the Prince George Public Library for over 30 years. Our friendship has been built on respect and trust and we intend to support, promote and advocate for the library in the years ahead.”

Since their incorporation in 1990, the Friends of the Library have raised over $440,000 with fundraising initiatives like book sales, memberships and merchandise sales, and 50/50 draws.
