Cougars down Chiefs Friday in dominant 7-2 outing

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars improve their record with a 7-2 win over the Spokane Chiefs Friday night.

Koehn Ziemmer continued his hot streak as he got the scoring started just two minutes into the game.

After trading goals the next two periods, the Cougars eventually pulled away with a three-goal lead making the score 5-2 at the end of the second period.

In the third, Ondrej Becher and Chase Wheatcroft added to the Cougars’ lead to make it 7-2, solidifying the win.

The Cougars improve their record to 8-7-0-0 with the win, while the Chiefs drop to 3-9-0-0.

Prince George currently sits in the fourth spot in the WHL Western Conference standings and Spokane falls to last.

The Cougars hit the ice again Saturday night in a rematch against the Chiefs in Spokane, puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.
