Toxic drugs claimed 171 lives in September in B.C.
PRINCE GEORGE — Toxic drugs claimed the lives of at least 171 British Columbians in September.
The BC Coroners Service says that works out to about 5.7 deaths per day. A total of 1,644 lives have been lost to toxic drugs since January 1.
There have been 56 deaths in Prince George so far this year, which equals all of last year.
Illicit drug toxicity is the leading cause of unnatural death in BC.
