PRINCE GEORGE- There were some tense moments on Morton Crescent for the Webb Family Tuesday evening. Returning from his daughter’s volleyball practice just in time for dinner, Terry Webb, working father of two, plugged in his Brand new 2022 SUV to keep the engine warm overnight, went inside to change, and before he knew it a couple passerby’s we’re banging on his door to tell him both his cars we’re now engulfed in flames, with fire creeping it’s way towards the family home.

Their daughter’s bedroom window was adjacent to the blaze, and as the heat from the flames reached the home, it shattered the glass and sent smoke billowing into her room. Scorch marks now scar the siding of their family home, their daughter’s window boarded up by fire crews, a solemn reminder just how close they came to losing so much more.

The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature, originating in the engine bay of the family’s brand new SUV. The Webb family is now going through an insurance claim to recoup their losses. Prince George Fire Rescue Chief Cliff Warner, says while its not encouraged for members of the public to put themselves in harms way during an emergency situation, in a case like this, the quick thinking of a couple passing good samaritans alerted a family to fire that they would have no way of knowing was there until it had already engulfed their home.
