Reproductive rights rally brings attention to issues facing women
PRINCE GEORGE — Outside of the University Hospital of Northern BC, several members from Inspiring Women Among Us group and the Northern Womens Center braved the cold for a few hours on Saturday to bring attention to reproductive rights and to stand in solidarity with women who are facing restrictions to reproductive health and education.
Lorena Magni, executive director of the Northern Women’s Centre, says that this rally is bringing attention to the issue of women’s reproductive rights not only in Canada, but in Prince George and the North.
Some women seeking an abortion may have to travel as far away as Vancouver or Victoria in order to receive care.
