RCMP investigating fatal shooting

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP are investigating a Monday night shooting.

Police received the report of the shooting at Connaught Hill Park at 5:15 p.m.

“Police officers attended the area and locate a man in his twenties near the bottom of the blue stairwell who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Health Services transported the victim to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“The investigation is in its early stages; however, police believe it was likely a targeted event. Investigators with Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit are now looking to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident or who may have dash cam footage from the area at the time the shooting was reported.”
