PRINCE GEORGE – The holiday party season has begun after being delayed by the pandemic for the past couple of years. In anticipation, many large banquet venues have been booked for months. As a result, police have ramped up patrols.

In the past few months, RCMP have seen an increase in impaired drivers and has ramped up their roadside enforcement during the festive season.

“There are various different techniques we do to detect impaired driving. One of our main ones is coming up through the holiday season will be the roadblocks. There will be overt enforcement on major arterial roads and minor side roads, and we will be stopping and checking each driver’s sobriety.”
