Impaired driver arrested after running red light in front of police

PRINCE GEORGE — A man was arrested for impaired driving after running a red light in front of police this week.

RCMP say it happened at approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday morning at the intersection of 17th Avenue and Victoria Street.

Police say the vehicle collided with a sign post before ending up stopped off the roadway.

Police found the driver unresponsive and was later determined to have suffered non-life -threatening injuries.

“Investigators determined the man was showing signs of drug impairment and he was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was subsequently released, pending the full results of the investigation,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
