Highway 16 East reopens after semi loses load

PRINCE GEORGE —Update: The highway has fully reopened.

Earlier: Motorists beware.

North District RCMP confirm that a semi has lost its load on Highway 16 East between Shelley Road and Giscome Road just after 8 a.m. this morning.

The driver of the truck isn’t injured but flaggers have been called in while crews clean up the logs.

According to Drive BC, the road will remain closed until 2 p.m. A detour is available through Giscome Road.
