Support The Salvation Army now at Miracle on Third

Dec 1, 2022 | 3:02 PM

Prince George- The day is finally here, Miracle on Third has been set up all day in support of the Salvation Army.

Over this week, we have learned a lot about the Salvation Army and how they impact our community. Now we learn a little bit more about the history of the organization, and how they have been helping people for over 150 years.

“The Salvation Army began in 1865 in London, England, with two people. William and Catherine Booth, and they were Methodist ministers and looking for a way to make a difference in the world,” said Maj. Neil Wilkinson.

The Salvation Army first came to Prince George in 1921 and celebrated its 100th-anniversary last year. They are still proud to help our community.

“What we’re best known for right now in Prince George is our food bank. We’re known for the emergency disaster services support that we provide when needed,” said Wilkinson. ” We provide lots of recycling opportunities through the thrift store and our recycling ministries.”

You can support the Salvation Army now by coming down to our Pattison Media office now with non-perishable food items or a financial donation.
