Bedard and Pats beat Cougars 5-1 Friday

PRINCE GEORGE — The Regina Pats and their star Connor Bedard came into Prince George while on their B.C. road trip and are leaving the city with a win.

Beating the Cougars 5-1, the Pats improve their record to 13-12-1-1 as Bedard scored twice lifting Regina to victory.

Although the score was not in the Cougars’ favour, Prince George outshot Regina 31-29 in the game.

Drew Sim stood on his head making save after save for the Pats only allowing one goal past him.

Bedard added to his point and goal total Friday with his two goals marking down his 25th and 26th goals of the season in 27 games. He now has 59 points on the season.

The loss for the Cougars drops them to a 13-11-0-0 record which sits them in the fifth seed in the WHL’s Western Conference standings. PG sits one point behind Everritt for the fourth seed.

The Cougars now head to Langley for a matchup with the Vancouver Giants
