Cooper says the second vehicle was pulled over shortly after 10 a.m. part way through the intersection at 3 Avenue and Queensway.

“Police conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle and saw what appeared to be drug paraphernalia around the driver. The driver, identified as Jamie Wade Fatum, was arrested for impaired driving. A subsequent search of the vehicle located a loaded firearm on the floor behind the passenger seat as well as suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine,” she says.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges in this matter:

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
• Transporting a firearm in a careless manner

“These two traffic stops took five known offenders off of our streets, as well as several firearms and a large quantity of drugs. Prince George RCMP is committed to disrupting the illicit drug trade in our city, which brings an unacceptable level of violence to our streets,” says Cooper.

These files remain under investigation. All suspects will remain in custody until their next court appearances.
