School District 57 to look at changing name, visual identity

Dec 6, 2022 | 1:04 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — School District 57 is looking to rebrand in order to better reflect students, communities and local First Nations.

The school district is thinking about changing its look after 51 years. SD57 currently has a survey open to the public to get feedback on the current name and visual identity.

Comments on Facebook, show that the majority of people seem to be against the district changing the logo, citing the cost, as well as other issues. Many said that if the district decides to change the name and logo, the money could go to more important issues, such as local and rural bussing. Some say that if the logo has been around for 51 years, why bother changing it.
