PRINCE GEORGE — The new provincial cabinet was revealed yesterday and the response from the BC Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN) is a positive one.

The assembly says that the new cabinet must “build good relations with First Nations and address inequities that hinder the development of a strong and resilient province and nation.”

Regional Chief Terry Teegee says he is looking forward to working with all cabinet members and also notes that he is pleased to see the creation of two new ministries which are housing and emergency management and climate readiness.

Teegee says that these are areas that deeply affect Indigenous peoples and deserve more attention and resources. The BC AFN says that the new appointments and ministry creations move the province forward in a positive direction.
