Prince George Ski Clubs ready to go for busy weekend with great ski condition forecast
PRINCE GEORGE- Snowmakers at the Hart Highlands Winter Club have been spewing out clouds of powder for about a month straight, and the ski runs are finally ready for opening weekend. Casey Johnson, Board Member at the Club, and a lifelong patron himself, says crews have been working flat out prepping the hill for the upcoming opening day, conditions are amazing for early season, and the Hart Ski Hill’s opening weekend is upon us.
Over at Otway, at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club, eager skiers and snowshoers of PG have been able to enjoy some great early bird conditions for about the past 3 weeks, minus a small shutdown during the last cold snap. Nateevah Sterling, Social Media Manager at the Nordic Ski Club says theres been a strong early showing from local skiers, a promising sign that we’re in for another busy year, with lots of options at the ski club for winter fun.
While the hills and trails might seem eerily quite right now, it’s definitely the calm before the storm. An army of locals had been working around the clock for weeks to prep for this season, and they’re taking some well deserved rest before coming back this weekend to help eager new skiers and veterans alike seek the thills on the hills they’re after.
