Spruce Kings get 6-3 win over Capitals for 14th win of the year

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings showed out in front of their fans at the annual DROP THE GLOVES AND SOCK IT TO ‘EM night with a 6-3 win over Cowichan Valley Capitals.

PG marks another win down on their record for their 14th win of the season.

This is the Capitals’ 17th loss this year which sits them at the bottom of the Coastal Division standings.

John Herrington and Ty Gagno both had four points each in the win scoring twice and adding two assists.

Capitals goalie McCoy Bidewell stood his ground the best he could stopping 36 shots but PG got the better of the two as Jordan Fairlie made 24 saves on the night facing 27 shots.

The win brings the Spruce Kings to a record of 14-10-1-1 for the season and now have 30 points on the year.

Prince George now sits tied with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in points in the BCHL standings with identical records.

The Spruce Kings currently are tied for fourth in the Interior Standings.

PG now gets set to hit the road for two games next weekend with the first against the Nanaimo Clippers, and the second in Chilliwack the day after.
