KENNEWICK — The Prince George Cougars were close to a comeback after trailing 3-0 early in the game to the Tri-City Americans but ultimately lost 4-3.

Tri-City jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period so Prince George found themselves in a deep hole to dig out of.

After the first frame, the Cougars’ offense came alive to score two straight goals in the second period to make it 3-2 heading into the third.

Tri-City’s Jordan Gavin responded to the Cougars’ goals adding to the score to make it 4-2 for the Americans.

Prince George was able to cut the lead to one goal with a goal from Carter MacAdams.

The Cougars pulled their goalie with only a few minutes remaining but couldn’t buy a goal to tie up the game.

PG loses their fourth straight game which drops them to a 14-14-1-0 record.

The Cougars currently sit in the fifth seed in WHL’s Western Conference standings with 29 points, now only one point ahead of the Americans.

Prince George will continue their road trip as they will take on the Seattle Thunderbirds on Tuesday.
