Local hockey player featured as player of the week on Hockey Night Punjabi

PRINCE GEORGE– 13-year-old Sunjai Sharma got the experience of a lifetime as the Prince George boy and hockey player got to tell his story on Hockey Night Punjabi being featured as a player of the week. Sunjai has hockey dreams of his own, playing hockey here in Prince George and practicing as much as he can on Outdoor Rinks whenever he’s got an opportunity.

“When I was smaller, they started a segment where they want to interview hockey players or athletes, and it turned out pretty good. It kind of blew up. So they wanted to do it again with me, which is an awesome privilege. It was really fun for me and my family and I was really happy I was able to do that.”

Although the experience was amazing for Sunjai he’s very thankful the opportunity and is hoping his appearance inspires younger kids to play hockey.

“There’s nothing like that feeling. It feels so good. I look up to a lot of people and just knowing that there are some kids who might look up to me. It’s just a great feeling. It makes you feel really good.”

For now, Sunjai will focus on his career with his goal of making the NHL and playing with his favorite players, Connor McDavid and Kailer Yamamoto.
