Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation receives over $180k from Costco
The littlest patients in Northern BC have seen significant enhancements and additions to healthcare thanks to the team at Costco Prince George over the past 28 years, and this year the support included a special surprise.
Costco team members were on hand early Tuesday morning to present proceeds from the 2022 Costco Kids Campaign that saw over $82,526.14 dollars raised, but that wasn’t all. An additional $100,000 dollars was donated in recognition of the outstanding local team. These donations will have a direct impact on children throughout the region.
“Costco Prince George is excited to be presenting Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation with a cheque for $82,526.14 from our Children’s Miracle Network Campaign,” said Todd Forsyth, General Manager, Costco Prince George. “This would not have been possible without the great job and efforts from our Employees as well as the generous donations from our Members and Vendors. On top of that Costco Wholesale recognized our location as having one of Western Canada’s highest donations increases over the previous year and presented us with an additional cheque in the amount of $100,000 to donate to Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. This being a combined donation of $182,526.14 that will help provide a better quality of life for our community.”
Costco has played a pivotal role in supporting the purchase of vital pieces of equipment to ensure our littlest patients in the North have the very best in care. Some key additions over the past 28 years include a Diagnostic SPECT CT, Panda Warmer, Infant Transport Incubator, and Enteral Feeding Pumps. This year is no exception with the goal of rounding out funding for three Giraffe Carestations for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UHNBC.
