Fortis BC says energy use to increase during cold snap

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George and Northern BC is in the midst of a deep freeze right now and that means heating systems of all types will be working overtime to keep you and your house warm. However, with that extra heat, comes a larger energy bill at the end of the month.

Fortis BC has programs in place to help customers during the winter months, when energy usage is higher.

Our winters in Northern BC are long and arduous, and while this cold snap is only expected to last a week, it won’t be long before the fireplaces and furnaces are running at full steam again when the next bout of cold weather hits.
