‘Treacherous spot’ the site of Friday’s hit-and-run says RCMP

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP are reminding motorists and pedestrians to be cautious when travelling in the area of Highway 97 and Noranda Road, especially at night.

The advice comes following Friday night’s hit-and-run that seriously injured a pregnant woman and killed her unborn child.

RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper says that area can be particularly dangerous.

“Though conditions were dry that night, that stretch of highway does not have a lot of light once it gets dark,” she tells CKPG. “So it can be very treacherous for motorists and pedestrians who are sharing the highway and we want to encourage everyone while we have our extended dark hours to slow down and watch out for other users of the highway and just for everyone’s safety.”
