Flight delays and cancellations at YVR affecting Prince George flights
PRINCE GEORGE — Flight delays and cancellations are currently causing chaos at Vancouver International Airport, which is causing ripple effects across the province. Since Saturday, dozens of flights and departing Prince George have been either delayed or cancelled, and even with temperatures dropping to dangerous levels, YXS is still fully operating.
Maureen Sword, who is trying to get to California to visit her son and grandchildren, had her Air Canada flight to Vancouver cancelled multiple times. From out of town, Maureen has to stay in a hotel in Prince George until her flight takes off. She was rebooked on a flight Wednesday morning and hopes that tomorrow will be the charm. Nicole Abley and her family flew from L.A. to Vancouver with WestJet, and they have been stuck in Vancouver as well.
Multiple travellers, such as Kevin Cote, have told CKPG News that have had their flights cancelled leading to rebookings up to 3 days later, and are unsure what to do next. Travellers are advised to regularly check their flight status for the most up to date information, and to be prepared for any changes that may occur throughout their travels.
