RCMP release New Year’s Eve stats

PRINCE GEORGE — RCMP calls for service were down in 2022 in Prince George.

Police say there were just over 46,000 calls compared to over 51,000 in 2021.

New Year’s Eve was also calmer than in previous years, with 110 calls – most of which were related to dealing with intoxicated individuals.

“Overall, calls to police on New Year’s Eve were in-line with regular types of calls: police were kept busy attending to numerous disturbances and incidents caused by intoxicated individuals,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper. “The peak hours for calls to police occurred late in the evening on December 31 and in the early morning hours of January 1.
