Two arrested in Smithers drug bust

SMITHERS — Two people were arrested following a drug bust in Smithers.

North District RCMP say it follows an investigation that started in October 2021.

“The investigation, which included surveillance, showed suspicious activity consistent with the sale of illicit drugs at a residence in the 3700-block of Broadway Avenue,” says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.

“Police gathered evidence and a search warrant was issued on Thursday, December 29, 2022. During the search, police seized illicit drugs suspected to be fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine as well as cash and drug paraphernalia.”
