PRINCE GEORGE — The weather certainly isn’t seasonal in Prince George right now, and the mixed bag of conditions is leading to challenging conditions on the roads.

Prince George has been covered in fog recently, but the fog isn’t the only issue concerning drivers. The recent warm up has led to a lot of slush, leading to a freeze/thaw situation. Today it is a bit colder, meaning snow pack on the road is more likely to be frozen, but by Friday, Saturday, temperatures will warm up to around 5 degrees, leading to that snow and ice to thaw. City crews trying to deal with these changing conditions, have a challenge on their hands.

While standard practice is in place, the city has been using some resources, such as chloride, more than others. The roads department will work in tandem with the utilities department if issues arise.
