Forestry rally planned for Northern Resources Forum in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE — The community is being invited to attend a community rally planned for Tuesday evening at the Canada Games Plaza. The rally was organized following the announced closure of the Prince George Pulp and Paper mill last week.

The rally is planned for 6:30 p.m. at approximately the same time B.C. Premier David Eby is scheduled to speak at the Northern Resource Forum inside the Prince George Civic Centre.

Spokesperson James Steidle says protesters want to send a message to the government, that forest decisions need more local input. “Our forests and those who work in the forest industry need local jobs, local decision making, and long term planning using secondary growth forest.”
