RCMP cleared following IIO investigation of incident on the Hart

PRINCE GEORGE — The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) are not recommending charges following an investigation regarding an incident that occurred on Langer Crescent on October 6, 2021.

As CKPG orginally reported on November 21, 2021, the affected man was involved in an altercation with another man which reportedly included the display of a firearm.

Following an altercation which included the use of a police service dog, the man was arrested and bitten by the dog during the process.

The IIO says it was both necessary and reasonable to physically hold on to the man so that he could be handcuffed safely.
