Fatal crash on Highway 16 56 km west of McBride

MCBRIDE —Update: The highway is now open to single-lane alternating traffic.
Earlier: One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 16, approximately 56 kilometres west of McBride this morning.
BC RCMP say the report of the crash came in at 6:17 a.m. with one male pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased was driving a transport truck.
According to Drive BC, there is no detour and a vehicle recovery operation is in progress. The highway is expected to be closed for a while longer while the investigation into the crash continues.
