Cougars allow 5 power play goals in 8-5 loss to Red Deer

RED DEER, AB. — The Prince George Cougars ended up on the losing end of a wild scorefest in Red Deer Friday night (Jan. 20), dropping an 8-5 decision to the Rebels.

Red Deer jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period before the Cougars roared back with four straight goals in the second. The game was tied 4-4 after two periods.

In the third, Red Deer pulled away, scoring three straight power play goals to put the game out of reach.

The Rebels ended the game with five power play goals.
