Prince George cyclist Kris Yip passes away at 47

PRINCE GEORGE- A legend in Prince George and the cycling community Kris Yip has passed away at the age of 47.

Yip grew up in Prince George and spent the majority of his life cycling through the province, but he always called the northern capital home.

His friends and family celebrated Yip’s life this week.

“We were as thick as thieves and we’d go off to bike races all over the province and compete together,” said Neil Hodgson, a friend of Yip. “It was just great to be there with him and do it because he was just he was a joy to be around.”

Yip started competing competitively at the age of 15 years old.
