Spruce Kings Austin Fraser commits to Lindenwood University
PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George Spruce Kings forward Austin Fraser (’03) recently announced he’s committed to Lindenwood University, an NCAA Division I hockey program. Lindenwood University is located in St. Charles, Missouri, a northwestern suburb of St. Louis. The Lions are currently competing in their first season as a varsity program. The program had won four club National Championships prior to its promotion ahead of the 2022-23 season.
“On the recruiting side of things, it was unreal from Lindenwood,” said Fraser on his recent recruitment trip to the Midwestern United States. “They kept everything black and white and were honest with my questions, which made me that much more comfortable in making a decision. Overall, it was a bit of a stressful and nervous process but with the support from my family, team, advisor, and Lindenwood’s faculty, I knew this is a place where I’d be able to succeed in the future.”
On March 23, 2022, Lindenwood officially announced that its men’s ice hockey team would join Division I in the fall. The team finished its final club season with a 22–3 record and won its fourth American Collegiate Hockey Association National Championship.
