PRINCE GEORGE — At Downtown Winterfest on Saturday, a team was out giving hugs to help lift someone’s mood.

Aaron Vanderpool and his family along with others, were sharing 20 second hugs on Saturday in honour of his child Taraji, who passed away last June.

The goal was to share 200 hugs that day as volunteers were on hand to provide 20 second hugs to those who wanted to participate. Aaron and his family partnered with Foundry Prince George, the PG Pride Society and Downtown Prince George to host the event.

People were also encouraged to participate wherever they were located by sharing 20 second hugs with those around them.
