Pilot Mountain mail delivery set to resume on March 1st, following prolonged storm delays
PRINCE GEORGE- For the past two weeks Thomas St-Coeur and Kevin Harms have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the mail, but for some reason, even with meticulous snow clearing around their mail boxes and freshly plowed streets accessing the neighbourhood, their mail boxes on Pilot Mountain have remained untouched and empty for 10 days, and they haven’t been given a clear answer as to why.
Originally from North-Central New Brunswick, Thomas St-Coeur moved to Prince George just over a year ago. Since then, mail delivery to his address on Pilot Mountain Road had been delayed at times, but it’s always been regular, and his letters always seemed to make it to the mailbox withing a matter of days before… But, this time, after 10 days of silence from Canada Post, Thomas says the situation seems worse than the postal worker strikes that ground mail delivery to a halt in his home province back in 2018.
On the official Canada Post website, there were no active announcements regarding delays or delivery service route disruptions for the Prince George area either… However, earlier this month, there were a number of delay alerts issued for the Prince George region by Canada Post due to inclement weather, as well as two ongoing “yellow notices” in the lower mainland.
