RCMP investigating death of 57-year-old woman in Chetwynd

CHETWYND — North District Major Crimes have been deployed to Chetwynd after a woman was found dead in a home.

RCMP say the 57-year-old was found dead in the East Pine area of town yesterday (Feb.27).

RCMP say investigators believe this to be an isolated incident, as a suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators are working closely with partners to determine the motive in this incident, and at this time police say there is nothing to indicate any threat to the public.

Chetwynd RCMP say the effects of this tragedy are being felt by the entire community and that they are working closely with their partners with School District 59 to alleviate any concerns the pubic may have.
