No, No, Nanette ready to tap into the spotlight at Theatre Northwest

PRINCE GEORGE – The UNBC Musical Productions Club will make a grand return to the stage next week bringing No, No, Nanette to Theatre Northwest.

The musical comedy involves three couples who find themselves together at a cottage in Atlantic City in the midst of a blackmail scheme, focusing on a young, fun-loving Manhattan heiress who naughtily runs off for a weekend, leaving her unhappy fiancé. Its songs include the well-known “Tea for Two” and “I Want to Be Happy”.

The big highlight out of this production is the sheer amount of tapdancing, a skill some of the cast had to learn, while it came naturally for others.

Director, Rikki Holland said she looks forward to directing the production after being involved behind the scenes and as a cast member in previous years. Holland said this is her first time directing such a production, and she’s hopeful there could be more to come on the stage at Theatre Northwest.

“We definitely haven’t done such a dance-heavy show in the past,” said Holland. “I think mainly that is based on the types of talent we’ve gotten to work with lately, we’re so lucky to work with so many talented dancers who have been able to choreograph our shows for us.”

The student-led non-profit is hoping the community will support them by filling the seats March 16-19, and 23-26. Tickets are available at Theatre Northwest in-person or online.
