Fire damages Merritt Road home

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue doused a house fire on Merritt Road near Costco during the lunch hour today (March 8).

Neighbours say smoke could be seen billowing from the roof and flames shooting from the house.

Damages appear to be extensive though there’s no word yet on the cause or if anyone was injured.

Three fire trucks and an ambulance were on scene. The fire also backed up traffic in the residential area while crews conducted their work.
