VICTORIA — Just one day after they scored eight goals, the Prince George Cougars added six more on the Victoria Royals, defeating the club by a score of 6-3 on Saturday (Mar.11) at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena.

Koehn Ziemmer opened the scoring at 5:44 of the first period to put his team up 1-0. Chase Wheatcroft would find himself on the board as well, tallying his 44th of the year and putting Prince George up by two. A tripping penalty by the Cougars would lead to the Royals getting on the scoresheet as Riley Gannon would score on the powerplay to cut the Cougars lead in half.

Then a surge of four goals by the Cougars would give themselves a 6-1 lead, including Zimmer’s second of the night which would prove to be the game winner as a result.

The Royals would score two more goals between the second and third period but it would not be enough for a comeback as Prince George would secure their ninth win in the last 11 games.
