Canfor’s number of job losses at B.C mill lower than originally estimated

PRINCE GEORGE — The projected job losses from Canfor’s closure of the Prince George Pulp and Paper Mill are much less than what was initially estimated.
220 of an estimated 300 positions were slated to be eliminated. However, the number has since decreased to 90 since workers accepted early retirement packages or leaving for other jobs.
The closure is expected to affect roughly 80 management and union-exempt staff.
