Spruce Kings earn two crucial points in win over Bucks
CRANBROOK — With the third place up for grabs in the Interior Division of the BCHL, the Prince George Spruce Kings are inching closer to securing the seeding. Defeating the Cranbrook Bucks 4-3 on Friday (Mar.24).
In the first period, Cranbrook was off to a solid start. Kellan Hjartarson scores is 13th of the campaign to give the Bucks a 1-0 lead. Prince George would answer back in the frame however. Scoring two goals to give themselves a 2-1 lead heading into intermission courtesy of Jake Schneider and Ben LeFranc.
In the second, both teams played well defensively but Kilian McGregor-Bennett would give Prince George a two goal lead heading into the third period.
Austin Fraser would tally his 13th of the season near the midway mark of the third to give the Spruce Kings a 4-1 lead. But hold on, here come the Bucks. Bryce Sookro would score 14 seconds later to cut the lead in half.
