PRINCE GEORGE– Logan Pierce took a trip up to Prince George three weeks agoto check out UNBC and train with his future teammates. There were some nerves, but he also went into the experience with an open mind.

“Going into it, I didn’t really know what to expect from Prince George just because I’ve heard mixed things. So I went up there and it was just such a beautiful city, a great town, like the scenery and everything really reminds me a lot of home.” – Logan Pierce, Committed to UNBC Timberwolves

From there the rest is history with the 17-year-old goaltender officially committing to the UNBC Men’s Soccer team, excited to take the next step in his soccer career with what he believes is the perfect fit.

“The environment that Steve has been able to create there, it’s a really welcoming place. I felt a little nervous going in because I haven’t played at a high level in a while. But all the guys, really made me feel included. When I made a mistake, it was Pick your head up, like you’re fine, versus getting beaten to the ground.” – Logan Pierce, Committed to UNBC Timberwolves

And the feeling is mutual with the Reigning U SPORTS National Coach of the Year. Steve Simonson is very excited to work with the Campell River product who’s had a decorated career before joining Canada West and the Timberwolves.

“He’s a good goalkeeper today already, but his potential’s really, really high and that’s what we’re most excited about. He has big dreams and aspirations to take his game as far as he can. He’s humble, he’s grounded. He’s a hard worker. He’s a good team guy. So I’m excited about that. I think there’s a real big upside with the guy and not just what we can help him with, but what he can bring to our program.” – U SPORTS National Coach of the Year in 2022

Pierce will now join the TWolves coming a historic season that saw them go 8-5-3 and make the Canada West Playoffs for the first time in a long time. The Goalie is looking forward to building on that historic season next year and hopefully helping this team over the top.
