Wiebe’s OT goal lifts Cougars over Americans, ties the series at one
PRINCE GEORGE — After a tough loss in game one to the Tri-City Americans, the Prince George Cougars fought back in game two Saturday (Apr.1), tying the series up at one after winning 2-1 in overtime.
Both teams played well defensively despite Prince George outshooting the Americans 14-9 in the first period. Neither club however would find the back of the net in the opening frame.
In the second, Tri-City is the team to strike first blood courtesy of Adam Mechura who would score his first of the postseason at 7:02. Five minutes pass by and the Cougars answer on a goal by Cole Dubinsky, who tallies his first of the playoffs to tie things at one.
In the third, neither team would find the back of the net, sending game two into overtime.
