PRINCE GEORGE- Spruce Kings graduating goalie Jordan Fairlie is taking his game to Toronto this fall.

The 20-year-old Fairlie announced his commitment to the University of Toronto late last week.

“I’m really pumped,” said Fairlie. “It’s good to go somewhere that wants you just as bad as you want to be there.”

Fairlie’s relationship with UofT started last season when the program reached out to him.

The Head Coach of the Varsity Blues, Ryan Medel says he can’t wait for Fairlie to get started.

“Anytime you can add not only a good character person but also a great competitor on the ice, you get excited,” said Medel.

In just three seasons with the Spruce Kings, Jordan Fairlie made a massive impact off the ice volunteering and giving back to the community with the latest being his Lift the Mask campaign.

Fairlie has been a rock for the Spruce Kings between the pipes. This past season Fairlie appeared in 41 games finishing with a record of 20-14-4 and was voted a 2022-23 BCHL All-star. In his three seasons in Prince George, Fairlie had a career 2.59 GAA with a .900 Save %, pairing that with seven career shutouts.

When Attending UofT, Fairlie will be studying Life Sciences as he works towards earning a bachelor’s degree. He hopes to major in Physiology and Psychology.
