PRINCE GEORGE– A loss on home ice to the Seattle Thunderbirds was the nail in the coffin for the Cougars’ 2022-23 Season. With that came the end to Cole Dubinsky, Jaxsen Weibe, and Chase Wheatcroft’s 20-year-old season and ultimately their WHL Career, with all of them acknowledging that your time in the league goes flying by.

While Cole Dubinsky and Jaxsen Weibe were acquired halfway through the 2022-23 campaign, Chase Wheatcroft played his entire 20-year-old season from the beginning here in Prince George’s. Getting traded here from Winnipeg he didn’t know what to expect, but the city team and organization have changed his life and he rewarded them with career highs in all categories across the board.

But for Dubinsky and Weibe they were also a big part of the Cougar’s success. A moment that stuck out to both players was the dreaded road trip in early December which saw the team go winless in 5 straight games. However, the resilience of this team to not get discouraged and push and clinch the 4th seed really impressed the veterans.
