Billet Families say goodbye to Prince George Cougars after season comes to an end
PRINCE GEORGE– Being a billet is special. An opportunity to take in a young hockey player and have him live with your family. For Angie Jones, she’s been doing it for years with the Prince George Cougars organization.
This year Angie took in Carlin Dezainde for a 2nd straight year after the Cougars acquired the 19-year-old from Medicine Hat back in 2021. Since then Jones has treated Dezainde like one of her sons and loves having him in her household.
“He fits into our family like he’s always lived with us. He is such a great kid. Our family adores him. We were all really sad when he had to go. And we’re hoping he comes back for maybe a visit this year. But we’re looking forward to having him back next year.”– Angela Jones, Carlin Dezainde’s billet mother
