Big changes ahead for BCHL after becoming Independent League

PRINCE GEORGE– It was news that shocked the hockey world here in BC. The BCHL announced that it will operate outside Hockey Canada’s system and become an Independent League. A decision that was a long-time coming. The move will officially be made June 1st and the league believes this is the right move for the development of their players.

It’s a bold move like no other but one that had to be made in the eyes of the BCHL’s Board of Governors, with the opportunity to grow and create more opportunities for players and more excitement for fans.

More questions will be answered over the coming months but for now, the BCHL has made the first step into separating itself from everyone else.
