PRINCE GEORGE — The 3rd Annual Little Kids with Big Hearts food drive is underway this week gathering support for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

The Little Kids with Big Hearts Food drive is taking place this week, all to gather support for the St. Vincent de Paul society. Eliza and Sasha Primus were the brainchilds behind this project.

“And she’s always had a heart for hungry people in our community. And we talked about the idea of a food drive and how that can really impact a lot of people. And that’s that’s where this all started.” – Dana Primus

In the third year of the food drive, Eliza is excited to see the support that has already been garnered just two days in.

“It was very exciting to see how much food people have brought in to just this one place. And we have so many other places on board too.” – Eliza Primus

The drive has grown this year, with multiple locations for folks to drop off food including both branches of the Prince George Public Library, Jolley Public Market and branches of the Integris Credit Union.

Jen Rubadeau with the Prince George Public Library says the library is happy to support community initiatives like these and hopefully with the two branches, the library will be able to collect a substantial amount of donations.

The food drive ends on Friday, May 5th and the hope is to raise more than last year, with all proceeds going to a good cause, and it was all started by two sisters who just wanted to help.
